We have installed a high quality ‘foil wrapped’ finish kitchen unit, chosen for not only its good looks, but also for its durability in a glamping accommodation situation as it can withstand a few knocks, still retaining its good looks. It is also very easy to keep clean. Topped with a high quality worktop and upstand, incorporating a two ring induction hob and circular chrome kitchen sink, draining board and mixer tap, with hot water provided by an under surface independent instantaneous water heater, to provide plenty of hot water on demand. We have finished this area off with a handy oak shelf, with cup pegs and Kitchen Vintage Apple Storage Crate (which can be personalised if required).
However if you would prefer to have a different kitchen style in your Otter Pod, such as a traditional handpainted kitchen, then we would be happy to discuss your ideas for this space.
This is handmade in our workshop using prepared softwood timber for the legs, painted in interior eggshell, with a solid oak top, which has been treated with OSMO Hard Wax Oil to give a hardwearing finish, allowing the natural beauty of the oak to come through but still preserving and protecting the surface.
Again this is handbuilt specifically to neatly accommodate our handmade dining table, with painted T&G base and solid oak hinged top, treated in the same way as the dining table and giving the additional benefit of extra storage space.
Handbuilt with painted prepared timber, we have fitted our bed with a false back halfway under the bed, so that the underside can be used for extra storage, such as stowing away suitcases or further vintage crates or handmade boxes, without items getting lost to the back of the bed! Don’t worry if you lose something down the sides though; the mattress can be easily slid forward and access accommodated through the removable section of the slatted base.
Handbuilt and finished in the same way as our dining table and bench, we have designed this piece of furniture to not only provide more additional storage space with shelving and a small hanging rail fitted internally but also a useful desk.
Should you choose the bathroom option, the door to the bathroom is a solid oak ledged & braced door, with thumb latch and slip bolt all in a pewter finish. Fitted with a high quality shower room suite compromising a corner shower tray with sliding glass curved doors, 9.5 KW electric Mira Sport shower and lined with Showerlux multi-panel boarding; painted effect vanity unit with porcelain basin and chrome mixer tap, with under cupboard independent hot water heater; corner toilet. Chrome electric ladder towel rail. We have finished the ceiling in this room with a durable water repellent boarding. All plumbing pipework is boxed in with T&G painted boarding, topped with a solid oak treated top, providing another handy storage area. A small access trap is provided in the boxing to access the mains water isolation stopcock.
The finishing touches are added by way of a chrome towel ring, toothbrush holder & glass and oak over-basin mirror all within the vanity unit area, together with a fitted toilet brush. Mains water supply connection pipework is fitted using 20mm blue medium density pipework as standard, with inline SENTINEL Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor (SESI) to provide limescale protection for the Pod.
All kitchen and bathroom plumbing has been installed and tested at our workshop, ready to connect to your on site water and drainage systems but we would suggest, due to the possibility of any loosening of the connections during transportation, that you have the connection to your on site services undertaken and tested by a fully qualified professional plumbing contractor upon final siting of the Pod unit.
1 Galvanised Outside Light.
Internally all of the electric installation is controlled by a connection card reader operation system, which switches off all of the electric items in the pod, other than the electric heater and fridge point, when removed, so that in a guesting situation, no unnecessary electric consumption is possible by items being left on when leaving the pod.

The bathroom consists of:-
External Electrical Connection Point (hook-up point for site electrical supply).
All electrical installations are fully tested on completion at our workshop and electrical installation certificated (copy provided with pod on delivery) but again we would advise that any connection to your on site electrical supply is undertaken and finally tested by a fully qualified professional electrical contractor, upon final siting of the Pod unit.
